Goodbyes and New Beginnings

Last year I was laid off from my Corporate Sales Trainer position at Time Warner Cable. I could spend hours discussing that but let's just say, it ended up being a very good thing. I looked for a few months and discovered Netsertive, a small, tech company and the complete polar opposite of every other company I've worked for. I interviewed for a position and while I wasn't a good fit for that one, they liked me, and thought I had a lot I could bring to the company and they created a position for me.

As soon as I got there, I knew that this place was just a little different. We had a cow. A cow with horns and udders.

A cow who was often placed in... compromised positions. (The cow has a Twitter account)

We had everything set up for her except the sleeve of saltines. She had a rough night.

I joined the Funcubator team, we were committed to bringing fun and merriment to the company. Like Tin Foil Hat day.

Some folks really got into it.

We even brought Festivus to the team. Complete with Feats of Strengths, the Airing of the Grievances and even the Festivus Pole.

The cow was a fan too.

But in the end, we were a tech company, one that loves to have fun.

It's not often you can leave a company without a single bad thing to say. I absolutely loved my time there. It was so refreshing to be a part of an organization who's absolutely committed to excellence.

A few weeks ago I was offered an amazing opportunity to return to my roots and manage a banking sales team. I couldn't pass it up and had to say goodbye to Netsertive.

It's been an amazing year and I wouldn't change a thing. Well, maybe one thing. There wasn't a going away cake. Instead I got my own.

Cheers to you Netsertive, perhaps we'll meet again one day.

  1. What a fun company! Hope the new job is just as fulfilling.

  2. Thanks Kerry! It's day 3 and so far so good!

  3. I think that I may need that cupcake. IMMEDIATELY. ;)
