Weekly Weigh-in #6

Yep, not a great weigh-in. I honestly don't have any idea why I gained. None. I ate on plan, we did have dinner out on Saturday, where I had 2 adult beverages, but I also had 6 days to work it off. I worked out 3 different days, it's not TOM, nothing.

I think the worst part is that I didn't do anything to earn a gain. Like if I ate all the delicious food and had cookies and booze and had a gain, THAT would be fine, but when you don't do anything, it sucks.

So, what changed? Over the last 2 weeks I re-introduced gum into my routine. I used to chew a lot of gum back in the day, then I developed an allergy to aspartame and literally ALL gum has aspartame in it. Except for cinnamon Trident. But cinnamon Trident is full of chemicals. Over the last 2 weeks, I had quite a bit of gum. Like really too much. Caloricaly it wasn't enough to gain, but the chemicals and artificial sweeteners could result in a stall/gain. Yea, no more gum. I'll try that and see if the scale moves in the right direction this week. It was odd, I was really feeling a 3 pound loss and the gain was a shock to me.

I'm also a little freaked out to have a gain this early on in the process. I don't remember it happening the last time, but it probably did.

Workouts
Saturday - Body Pump
Sunday - I felt like I had a bit of a cold and Kev grounded me from working out
Monday - Still grounded
Tuesday - Still grounded
Wednesday - Running late to Spin class, got in 30ish min of the class then yoga
Thursday - 45 min Spin
Friday - Nada, we went to First Friday Downtown

What I'm eating this week
Obviously a lot of gum. Really though, I've been wanting sushi. Sushi and a Veggie Sub from Subway. Don't ask why, I have no idea. I think because I ate a lot of them the last time I was on JC. I had plans for both this upcoming week, but no loss= no other foods.

Picture

I have on full body shapewear here. I know the jacket covers it up, but this was the only outfit shot I go this week. The last time I wore this dress, I was a solid 10+ pounds more. It definitely fits better than it did before.

Oh, don't forget! The GYPO Summer Style is OPEN now! Go here to sign up. You'll get the list of pieces, the 2016 wardrobe, the 2015 wardrobe and an awesome community of fellow fashionistas. I'm a big fan because it made me use pieces in my closet I hadn't in a very long time and things that I'd never thought to put together. Great experience and you all should do it. ;)

Cheats
Really, I ate on plan every day except Saturday. We went to Vin Rouge and I had tartar and frites. I also had 2 cosmos. That night I didn't skip my dessert either, I ate my  Lemon Cookies when we got home since we ate kind of on the early side. I said it before, I wish I had a giant cheat and earned that gain this week.

Monthly Goals
Last month I posted my goals.

I did a pretty good job on all of these, but missed the weight loss by .4 pounds. I'll take 7.6 though. I stuck to the JC plan and each week I worked out at least 3 times. Overall, not too shabby. I'll take it.

What's the plan for June?

I haven't been running. I've run like once since February. Did I mention I have a 5K next Saturday? I'm so screwed. I need to run more, even if it's on the treadmill. Since I didn't lose 8 last month, I'll try again in June. Finally, I need to not get injured. Really, I've been feeling a little twinges in my lower back and I need to be careful. I have a chiropractor appt this week and I need to foam roll. My muscles tend to lock up and push things out of place. I haven't worked out this hard since my last round of PT and I'm concerned that I might throw everything out of wack. Chiropractor, ice, foam roll, let's stay healthy.

Alright, here's to a better week!

  1. How do you use the foam roll? Been aiming to get one for over a year but the long ones are pricey. Worth it???

    1. My foam roller was $20ish from Target. I watched a bunch of youtube videos and when I had to go to PT, they showed me how to use one.

    1. Thanks! Yea, the gain is really frustrating, especially when it was completely unnecessary!

  3. Oh man, that's so aggravating. Even the smallest gain, but I think the body just naturally holds weight sometimes - water or hormones. It all just bites when you try so hard.
loving your dress in that pic!!!
